A Working KITAS is a residence permit issued to a foreigner for **work at a specific company in a specific position**. This KITAS is issued for a period of 1 year with the possibility of extension. To obtain it, a company in Indonesia must officially invite you to work. You can only work **for one company and in one approved position**. Working for multiple companies or combining different positions is not permitted. It is also important to note that some professions in Indonesia are completely closed to foreign citizens.

A Working KITAS allows **free entry and exit from Indonesia** throughout its validity period. It grants the right to **legally work in Indonesia**, earn income from employment, use medical services at local rates, open bank accounts in any Indonesian bank, and apply for Schengen and Japanese visas from Indonesia.

The spouse, children, and parents of a Working KITAS holder can apply for a **Family KITAS**. The process of obtaining KITAS for family members can begin simultaneously with the application for a Working KITAS.

The processing time for a Working KITAS is, on average, 30–35 business days.
Unlike many other companies, you do not need to wait several months and undergo an interview with the immigration service.
